How ARK Medical of Las Vegas Handles Minor Surgeries

How ARK Medical of Las Vegas Handles Minor Surgeries

At ARK Medical of Las Vegas, we understand that even minor procedures can seem significant to you. You trust us with your health. We do not take that lightly. We aim to ensure you feel secure, calm, and cared for every step of the way.

What Counts as a Minor Surgery?

Minor surgeries are simple medical procedures. They often take less than an hour. You leave for home on the same day. Examples include:

  • Removing small skin bumps or moles
  • Fixing an ingrown toenail
  • Draining a small abscess
  • Removing simple stitches

These procedures help you heal faster and worry less.

Who’s on Your Side

Our team is led by Cecilio Gonzales, an FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, and USMLE/ECFMG-certified professional. He trained first as a doctor at Far Eastern University. Then he became a nurse practitioner in New York. Later, he worked as a hospitalist in California. He also treats mental health needs, young and old. That means he uses what he learned in clinics, hospitals, homes, and online visits.
That broad experience helps him see you as a whole person. He knows how your body, mind, and home life all fit together. When you come here, you’re more than a chart.

Step 1: Getting Ready

Before any procedure, we talk with you. We want to know how you feel. We ask about past illnesses, medicines, and allergies. We help you understand what will happen.
We may do a Home Health NP Medical Assessment. A nurse practitioner can visit you at home. They check your heart, lungs, blood pressure, and skin. They make sure you’re ready. If you need lab tests, we guide you to the right place.

Step 2: On the Day of Surgery

When you arrive, you’ll meet a friendly face. Maybe Cecilio or one of our skilled nurses. We keep the room clean and bright. We explain what will happen in plain words. You can ask questions anytime.
We use local numbing medicine. You stay awake, but you don’t feel pain where we work. We chat about simple things, your favorite movie, your pet, or how your day’s going. Talking helps you relax.

Step 3: The Procedure

Most minor surgeries take just a few minutes. If we’re removing a small mole, for example, we make a tiny cut. We pull out the mole, stop any bleeding, and close the skin with a stitch or two. Each stitch is small, so the scar is tiny.
If it’s an abscess, we make a tiny opening, drain the fluid, clean the area, and cover it with a bandage. You may experience some pressure, but not intense pain.
Our nurse will keep an eye on you. They watch your vital signs, like pulse and breathing to make sure you’re comfortable. Meanwhile, Cecilio focuses on the medicine and the details.

Step 4: Aftercare Instructions

When we finish, we give you clear steps to follow at home. We write them down in simple words. For instance:

  • Replace your bandage daily using a fresh cloth.
  • Keep the area dry. No baths for one day, only quick showers.
  • Take the medicine we give you, exactly as told.
  • Watch for redness, swelling, or fever.

We use telehealth visits, too. If you can’t come back in person, we can set up a video call. You show us the spot. We guide you on cleaning and care.

Step 5: Follow-Up

A day or two later, we check in. Sometimes by phone. Sometimes in person. We ask how it feels and if you have questions. We remove stitches when it’s time. Typically, this occurs seven to ten days afterward.
If anything feels wrong, call us right away. No matter the hour. We want you to heal well.

Why Our Way Works

We blend medical skill with kindness. We regard you as a companion, not merely a number. Here are a few reasons people choose us:

  • One person guides your care from prep to healing.
  • You see the same nurse practitioner who knows your story.
  • We visit you at home or welcome you to our urgent care.
  • We offer mental health support because the mind and body connect.
  • We work with kids, adults, and older people aged zero to one hundred.

Keeping Your Whole Health in Mind

Minor surgery is just one piece of your health. Cecilio’s background as a Psychiatric-Mental Health NP matters here. If you feel worried or stressed about your procedure, we can help you work through that, too. A calm mind speeds healing.
Our clinic sits in Las Vegas, but our care stretches further. We’re licensed in four states for telehealth. Whether you change your location or go on a trip, you can stay in contact. We help you find care no matter where you are.

Simple Words, Real Care

Our promise is to break down big medical words. We speak so you can follow. We write down steps you can actually use. We check on you. You never feel left on your own.

What to Do Next
